To capture a Scribe and try these new features, just open the Scribe browser extension or desktop app, and click "Start capture." You can also visit your Scribe workspace and click "Create" in the top left corner.

All-new Windows and Mac apps: Document any workflow, wherever it happens

Not every workflow lives in your browser. That is why we rebuilt our Windows and Mac apps from the ground up over the summer, enabling Pro and Enterprise users to capture workflows wherever they happen.

We’re most excited that desktop app users can now take advantage of:

  • Select window targeting: Capture only the application you need.
  • On-screen controls: Pause or delete mid-capture for more control.
  • Voice transcription: Add richer context while you capture.

With a refreshed design, faster performance, and the same secure infrastructure you expect, documenting workflows across all your apps is now just as easy and reliable as capturing in the browser. That means you can go out of office knowing even the most complex processes are documented and ready for your team.

Pro and Enterprise customers can download the Mac and Windows desktop apps. On a Basic plan? Consider upgrading for desktop to ensure your workflows are captured no matter where they happen.

Delete accidental steps: More accurate guides, more reliable handoff

One of the best parts about using Scribe to document your workflows is that you don’t have to plan or rehearse them in advance; you can capture your work while you’re doing your work. Now, stray clicks or irrelevant steps can be deleted instantly as you go, so there’s really no need to plan before you begin. 

By quickly deleting accidental steps as you capture, your guide will come out polished and accurate, without extra cleanup.

Scribe’s enhanced detection logic now goes beyond what is visible, looking at parent HTML elements and attributes to find meaningful labels. Even if a button lacks a label, your resulting guide still shows the right instruction.
